2004 ISSCA Car Show Classification & Judging Rules

Procedures, Rules, and Forms for Car Show Judging

Adopted 11/01/2003

ISSCA car shows will be open to all Chevrolet Impala SS, B-Body, and D-Body vehicles manufactured by General Motors including model year 1991 through 1996. Show entries will be pre-classified by ISSCA car show officials and placed in judged categories based on model year, odometer mileage and number of visual modifications. All judged entries must meet a minimum of 100 points of the 200 points available in order to be eligible for a trophy regardless of the number of cars entered in the class.

Model Year Classes

There will be five (5) model year classes.  They are as follows:

·         Impala SS  - Model Year 1994, 1995 and 1996

·         B-Bodies and D-Bodies Other than Impala SS and Wagons – Model Year 1991 through 1996

This class will be for all GM B-Body and D-Body vehicles other than the Impala SS and B-Body Wagons. They will be classed and judged together in one (1) year class combining all years and models.  If more than ten (10) vehicles are entered into this class, then the class can be expanded at the discretion of the ISSCA officials.

  • B-Body Wagon Class – Model Year 1991 through 1996

This class will be for all GM B-Body Wagons. They will be classed and judged together in one (1) class combining all years and models. If more than ten (10) vehicles are entered into this class, then the class can be expanded at the discretion of the ISSCA officials.

Odometer Mileage Classes

The odometer mileage classes are as follows:

  • Sunday Driver               - Vehicles with mileage from 0 through 49,999 miles
  • Occasional Driver          - Vehicles with mileage from 50,000 through 99,999 miles
  • Frequent Driver             - Vehicles with mileage from 100,000 through 149,999 miles
  • Daily Driver                   - Vehicles with mileage from 150,000 miles and up

Please note mileage classes will NOT be combined.

Visual Modification Classes

There will be four (4) visual modification classes. These classes are based on the number of visual modifications that have been made to an otherwise GM Factory Stock B-body Vehicle. It is important to note that 1-color window tint will not be considered a modification in any class.  The visual modifications allowed per class and the respective description is as follows:

·         Stock                            0 modifications

·         Mild Street                    1 through 25 visual modifications

·         Street                           26 through 45 visual modifications

·         Modified                       46 visual modifications and up

Please note that if you are uncertain about any modification that you have made, plan to make or was made prior to your ownership, please consult the National Car Show Judge before the show for clarification.

Stock is defined as the way the vehicle was shipped from the factory. Any visible modification will place the vehicle into the next higher modification class. (Examples: Red Bow Tie, Cross Flags, CD Changer, etc.) There are several EXCEPTIONS as follows:

2.  Exhaust – Due to the age of these vehicles, many may have needed a new exhaust system.  Any muffler may be used as long as the factory size exhaust tubing remains. Resonators must still be intact. No muffler deletes, catalytic converter deletes and no “H” or “X” pipes allowed.

3.  Windshields – Must be to GM factory specifications for year of vehicle (e.g. no Sungate windshields allowed prior to 1995.)

4.   Windshield Wipers – These must be factory stock or OEM replacements. No 9C1 style allowed.

5.   Batteries – Any battery is allowed as long as it is in the GM factory location.
